Leasing a car allows upgrading to a new vehicle when the time comes to return the first one. Preparing a car for the end of a lease could save money. Since the vehicle belongs to the dealership, the leaseholder pays for depreciation. So, performing some basic maintenance before the return seems advisable.
Returning a clean car is helpful. So is fixing any apparent problems. Minor scratches and dings might not mean too much, but serious dents may require repair work. Taking the vehicle to get "major" repair work performed might be a better plan than returning a damaged model. Expect the dealership to charge for those repairs.
Are there any overages on the mileage allotment? Expect to settle that bill on the return.
